She raised us in an environment that was full of bible stories, faith based events, and encouraged us ask questions and explore. Church became our second home and was a strong social networking/support system to us. I too believe that there were many who added to my faith development, but if my mom hadn't given me the strong foundation, I wouldn't be who I am today.wege_debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08400627722681856404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4985963497704278051.post-25519673395671407122009-10-12T14:19:30.981-07:002009-10-12T14:19:30.981-07:00Bible Bars

I still to this day vividly remember her trust and faith in God while my grandpa was dying. I was in middle school and it was a very dark place for me as it was the first time I had lost someone close to me. But her steadfast belief in salvation gave me a stronger assurance in things hoped for but not seen.Janahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08734894093745441772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4985963497704278051.post-72704373688062299662009-10-04T12:37:01.354-07:002009-10-04T12:37:01.354-07:00So many good answers to this question. But there was a prof in college who did much to help me develop my faith - and it was not intentional. She taught our class how to be critical when looking at our faith. This killed faith for some students. But by spending time with my prof outside of class, she helped me see how it was possible to reconstruct faith in a new way. She gave me the lens through which I now do ministry.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4985963497704278051.post-17035306038338381252009-10-02T08:23:17.910-07:002009-10-02T08:23:17.910-07:00First was my extended family on both sides. Church attendance was always a priority even if there were guests.

Second was Frieda. She was an older woman at one the congregations I belonged to as a child. Frieda would generously offer her time to stay over night with the 3 of us so that mom and dad could go to synod assembly or some other church event. I still to this day wonder how she did it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4985963497704278051.post-45173661033941851622009-10-02T08:02:39.833-07:002009-10-02T08:02:39.833-07:00I have always gone to church. But when my daughter was born and more specifically when she was baptized, that is when my relationship with God truly began. Suddenly, I was moved, I felt the power of prayer. I understood how God loves us, unconditionally and without end because that is how I felt about my daughter. So somehow in bringing my children to God, I brought myself. My faith is stronger now than any other point in my life and the people who influenced that are my three beautiful children.

Tiffany
tppirwitz@gmail.comTiffanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01985722408315448314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4985963497704278051.post-37837681713482190462009-10-01T16:10:45.535-07:002009-10-01T16:10:45.535-07:00One of the main people to influence my own faith d...One of the main people to influence my own faith development was Emilie. I came to the Catholic religion later in life after being raised in a Methodist church. When I made the decision to convert to Catholicism Emilie agreed to be my RCIA sponser. She was very strong in her faith and I really admired that. I learned so much from her while we attended classes. I don't know that I would have had the same experience without her. I will always remember sharing that part of my life with Emilie and I am grateful to her for that. I am fortunate to have been able to tell her that before she passed away.

Kristie
kmabernathy32@msn.comKristiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12463797298995749902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4985963497704278051.post-10924866049214409912009-09-23T11:19:56.099-07:002009-09-23T11:19:56.099-07:00I'll play! K (age 4)- Her attempt to use grown-up words and phrases in conversation when they end up in the completely wrong place, but she says them with such determination and confidence that you can't help but smile. It shows me the her high level of observation and her terrific memory, that she can remember these particular collections of words even if she uses them in the wrong time and that she can tell the time is right for some serious words, again, even if her choice isn't quite on the mark. Maybe also her skills at negotiation since she usually gets whatever she wants when this happens since I'm so charmed by it!

W (age 2) - His sense of humor and excitement over the littlest things. His ability to draw others into a situation or conversation with his enthusiasm.

2. For them both - that they will continually discover what they are called to be and do, so they are never just going through the motions, but are always living out of passion and an understanding of who God created them to be.Stephanie Anthony/She Revhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10089531643725874239noreply@blogger.com
